Fun fact: The correct Northern Castilian pronunciation is “Tha-dah”.

But good luck getting anyone to know what you’re talking about pronouncing it that way.

It’s only fitting that my first post post is dedicated to my favorite store, Zara. I could probably wax poetic about the goodness of Zara. The styles are always bang on trend, super sleek, super European. European stores in general have my heart–Zara, Mango, Bershka, Stradivarius, Topshop, H&M (don’t forget the UK and Scandinavia are in Europe!)

But back to Zara. Great quality (most times), and prices that range from affordable to pretty pricey. For most fashion girls, Zara prices are fab, but for me, Frugal Fran, not so much. So, most of my Zara purchases occur at 3 times of the year: summer, the end of the year, and Black Friday. During the summer and at the end of the year, Zara has its semi-annual sale, and on Black Friday, there’s usually a sitewide 40% discount and free shipping, no minimum. So best believe my coints are ready to be maximized.

Right now, the end of 2015 sale is just about clearing out. This is a great time to shop the sale in-store. They always seem to have those items you were eyeing a season or two ago at slashed prices. I myself (by proxy, shoutout to my ace) just snagged a dress I’d been eyeing for months for $23, original price $130. For those of us who either do not have a Zara close by, or can’t be bothered with the hassle of in-store shopping, they’re a few gems I’d place in my cart from the Zara site.

Like this jacket

I promise, you pair can this with about almost anything–think shorts, mini skirts, skinny/flared pants–and it will be fab.

And this sweater

sweaters needn’t be basic! Pair with skinny jeans/leather pants, some killer ankle boots–or you can even go with shorts and thigh high boots–and a choker for a bomb night-out look that’s winter fab.

*Disclaimer: Zara online shoppers are quick as lightning. Some of these picks may be gone by the time you click. Sorry!! Not to worry, subsequent “What’s In The Cart” posts will be chock-full of well-stocked items. If you do happen to live near a Zara, check if they have the styles in-store!*

Happy Shopping! And let me know what you think in the comments!

  1. Wow, had NO idea that was how it was pronounced, fam. Looking forward to more posts like this! And knowing your bias against Forever, Idk if you’re going to exclude them from these posts LMAO but give them a try plssss. They’ve lowks started hiking their prices, but hopefully the price hike is being accompanied by better quality.

    1. HAHA Forever 21 will ofcourse be featured girrl! They’ve upped their entire ante recently, and prices have gone up with that; which is expected, since America is the land of spend-spend.
